Sarfira Trailer: Akshay Kumar Is Determined To Start 'India's First Low-Cost Airline' In Soorarai Pottru Remake

Sarfira trailer: The much-anticipated trailer for Akshay Kumar's latest film, 'Sarfira', dropped on Tuesday, setting the stage for an inspiring story of perseverance and innovation.

In Sarfira, Akshay Kumar steps into the shoes of Veer Mhatre, a character inspired by G. R. Gopinath, the visionary behind India's first low-cost airline, Simplifly Deccan. The trailer chronicles Veer Mhatre's relentless quest to make air travel affordable for the average Indian, challenging entrenched interests and defying the odds. 


The film also starring Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan, and Seema Biswas in key roles, is directed by Sudha Kongara, who had also directed Soorarai Pottru.

About Sarfira




In Sarfira, Akshay’s character faces numerous financial and personal hurdles in his quest to revolutionise air travel. His journey brings him face-to-face with a powerful business tycoon, played by Paresh Rawal, who owns the largest airline in the country. After enduring rejection and insults, Akshay's character resolves to make his dream a reality on his own terms, even contemplating selling flight tickets for just Rs 1 to ensure affordability for all. 


This role was originally portrayed by Suriya in the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, who also won National Award for the film.

Produced by Aruna Bhatia of Cape of Good Films, Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment), and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment), Sarfira is set to land in cinemas on July 12.
