Yash Will Not Play Raavan In Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi Film 'Ramayana' But Will Be A Part Of Film. Here's How
New Delhi: The much-talked about Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi project 'Ramayana' has finally begun. After the debacle of 'Bawaal', filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari has shifted gears into making a Hindu mythology inspried film in the form of 'Ramayana'. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. It is also being speculated that 'KGF' star Yash has joined the film as a producer.
Yash in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana?
Earlier, it was being widely speculated that 'KGF' star Yash was supoosed to play the role of Ravana. However, a recent Zoom report stated that the Kannada actor has joined the film as a producer.
A source told Zoom, "Yash resisted the offer to play Ravana for a long time. He agreed finally only as a producer. Rather than accept a fee (of around ₹80 crore), he agreed to come on board as a producer."
Off late, several pictures and videos from the grand sets of 'Ramayana' were doing the rounds on social media. As per reports, Nitesh Tiwari was 'very upset' about the leaked footage and has now imposed a no-phone policy on the sets of the film.
Bobby Deol, Lara Dutta, Vijay Sethupathi in Ramayana?
There have also been reports about Bobby Deol playing the role of Bobby Deol in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'. Vijay Sethupathi had also reportedly been roped in to play the role of Raavan's youngest brother, Vibhishan.
Lara Dutta will be essaying the role of Lord Ram's stepmother, Kaikeyi, while Sheeba Chaddha will play the role of Manthara. The film will be released around Diwali 2025.
Ranbir Kapoor training to play the role of Lord Ram
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor has been training for his role as Lord Ram in the film. Earlier in April, Ranbir's fitness coach had shared a glimpse of the megastar's training session before he started shooting for the movie.
On Instagram, Ranbir's trainer had shared a video of him, without a shirt, working out in green surroundings. The video was shared with the caption, "Went to the countryside for a decompression week. WIP with Ranbir."
