Tiger 3 Box Office Collection Day 2: Salman Khan Starrer Crosses Rs 100 Crore, Does Better Than Shah Rukh's Jawan
New Delhi: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s 'Tiger 3', which opened to record-breaking numbers, has performed even better on the second day of its release. The film has collected Rs 57 crore on its second day of release, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film now stands at Rs 102 crore in just two days.
The film had earned Rs 44.5 crore on its opening day (Diwali) at the domestic box office and Rs 94 crore worldwide making it Salman Khan's biggest opener and Bollywood's highest-grossing film on Diwali. With its second-day collection, the film has performed better than Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan', which had collected Rs 53 crore on its second day of release.
Tiger 3 is expected to continue performing well with the Bhai Dooj holiday on Wednesday.
According to Sacnilk, Tiger 3 had an overall 48.62% Hindi occupancy, 26.43% Telugu and 29.91% in Tamil on Monday.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film is the third part of the Tiger franchise which started with 'Ek Tha Tiger' in 2012 and was followed by 'Tiger Zinda Hai' in 2017.
'Tiger 3' is also a part of Yash Raj Films' spy universe which also includes, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' and the Hrithik Roshan starrer 'War'. Bot the actors have made a cameo in the film, also starring Emraan Hashmi as an antagonist. The fifth film in the spy universe, 'Tiger 3' sees Salman race against time to save both his family and country.
Tiger 3 review
The film has received mostly positive responses from the audience and the critics with Shah Rukh, Salman scene being the show stealer of the film.
The ABP Live review of the film reads, "The third installment turned out to be more engaging than 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai', even after an interminable flashback sequence. In fact, it wouldn't be a stretch to argue that Salman Khan has constantly rewarded his fans with the Tiger franchise. This time, he lived up to the hype unlike anyone else (for a non-Salman fan to say something like, it takes a lot.). His appeal is reinforced by a packed theater for an early show on the day of Diwali, but the film's performance can be gauged by the same crowd exiting feel content."
